Ankle Foot Orthoses (AFOs)

Boston Orthotics & Prosthetics is an expert in manufacturing and fitting ankle foot orthotics (AFOs) for the treatment of defects and abnormalities in the lower legs due to congenital abnormalities, disease, injury, trauma, or other conditions.

AFOs can be used to improve or correct lower limb issues by providing support to the limb, improving alignment, controlling motion, minimizing pain, and correcting or preventing the progression of deformities.

Boston O&P manufactures all our AFOs using the best materials. Our AFOs are available in either custom-fabricated or off-the-shelf solutions.

Our custom-fabricated AFOs are created using a cast or scan of the patient, and are modified by hand or using Computer Aided Design (CAD) technology to ensure the best and most comfortable fit.

Our pre-fabricated solutions are manufactured in a number of standard sizes for an affordable and fast alternative.

Custom Fabricated AFOs

Solid Ankle AFO

The Boston O&P solid ankle AFO is used to treat conditions including excessive pronation, heel inversion or eversion, forefoot abduction or adduction, and gait instability.

The solid ankle AFO provides maximum ankle stability, with trim lines determined by medical necessity and through gait analysis. The solid ankle AFO can be fabricated with a molded inner bootie to improve foot alignment and reduce tone.

Articulated AFO

The Boston O&P articulated AFO is used to treat conditions including excessive pronation, heel inversion or eversion, forefoot abduction or adduction, and knee instability.

The articulated AFO provides controlled ankle movement, with motion determined by medical necessity and through gait analysis. The articulated AFO can be fabricated with a molded inner bootie to help reduce tone by providing improved foot alignment.

AFOs Available in Both Custom & Pre Fabricated Custom Fit
