Scoliosis Resources & Support for Parents & Patients

Facebook Support Group

Boston O&P has created a Facebook Group: Boston Brace Scoliosis Support Group. This private group functions in a similar manner to other support groups found on social media wherein parents provide support and guidance to other parents within the group. However, the Boston O&P support group is also moderated by our own clinicians who offer the clinical expertise that many other support groups lack.

National Scoliosis Foundation

This nonprofit voluntary organization provides pamphlets, a newsletter, and other information materials on childhood and adult scoliosis. The foundation also provides support group information and lists of doctors in each state who specialize in scoliosis.

Scoliosis Research Society

This is a professional organization for orthopaedic surgeons interested in scoliosis. It provides pamphlets about the diagnosis and treatment of scoliosis. A free pamphlet is offered on its website as well as through the mail. The society also can provide referrals to doctors.

Curvy Girls International

An international network of peer-led support groups that reduce the emotional impact of scoliosis by empowering girls through mutual support and acceptance to become leaders, make healthy lifestyle choices, and improve self-esteem. 

American Physical Therapy Association

The American Physical Therapy Association's brochure about scoliosis, in English or Spanish, is available by mail or through the website.
