The leader in pediatric orthotic products and services, Boston Brace, along with its network of orthotic and prosthetics clinics, NOPCO, are now Boston Orthotics & Prosthetics.
Through interviews with a number of our industry experts, referral sources, and patients, we found that outside of the hospitals in which we operate, the NOPCO name is not widely known and is not understood in the marketplace. We also found a great deal of equity in the Boston Brace name, but it conveys that we are simply a medical device company. Going forward we want the marketplace to know us as both a clinical service and a medical device company.
Our research also uncovered that it is very important to maintain some brand continuity and to leverage the reputation of the teaching and medical community in Boston. As a result, we went to work to propose a name that preserved the legacy of Boston Brace, while also supporting our clinical services. The name we chose is Boston Orthotics & Prosthetics, a hybrid of our two current names.
We will continue to support and maintain Boston Brace as a sub-brand related to product. Our introduction of new products will follow with similar branding nomenclature, such as the Boston Band, the Boston AFO, and the soon to be released Boston Brace 3D.
