Recent Research Shows Long-term Effectiveness of Boston Bracing Treatment

A recent article titled, "Long-term results after Boston brace treatment in late-onset juvenile and adolescent idiopathic scoliosis," discusses a study that determined satisfying long-term results from the Boston Brace treatment upon post-brace follow-up.

The study, conducted by Johan E. Lange, Harald Steen, Ragnhild B. Gunderson, and Jens I. Bronx, included 251 women between 31 and 48 years of age. The average pre-bracing curve was 33.2o and the follow-up examinations determined that the post-bracing curve fell between 28.3 and 32.5o. The follow-up exams ranged from 16 to 32 years after the patients completed the Boston Brace treatment plan.

The full study will soon be available in PDF format at http://www.scoliosisjournal.com/content/6/1/18/abstract.
