Boston O&P Employees Celebrate Their Moms on Mother’s Day

Posted on

At Boston Orthotics & Prosthetics, we work with moms every day: mothers who bring their babies into our clinics to get fitted for plagiocephaly helmets, mothers who accompany their young daughters through the process of scoliosis treatment, mothers who provide comfort and support every day as they seek out the best treatment for their children.

L to R:  John Healey, COO, and Mom, circa 1976; Jen Santos and fur baby; Kelly Benard and Mom; Amanda Koutelis and son; Ebony Lang and sons.

In honor of all these moms, we asked our employees to share thoughts, photos, and memories about their own mothers. Here's a sampling.

“Here is a picture of me with my mom and first daughter when I became a mother myself 6 years ago. She's an incredible woman, wife, mother of 4, grandmother of 10, godmother, nurse, and friend. Her life has been an example of love, nurturing, commitment, strength, and faith--I hope I can continue to be more like her every day!”
Jackie Dempsey, Certified Orthotist & Clinical Director (Waltham-9 Hope)

“I thought I would share a memory from just after losing my mom. In this photo, sisters, daughters and granddaughter are spending our first Mother’s Day together without our Mom and Nana in May 2015. Such a fun time with lots of laughs. We miss this beautiful lady every day. Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms and cherish every moment!
Sheryl Williams, Senior Billing Specialist

“My mom has taught me values and what is truly important in life. She is also the only person who will always tell me the truth—even if I don’t want to hear it! For that reason, I am most thankful.”
Kristin Merlino, HR Director

“I love my mother because she mothers all of us at Boston O&P and loves its employees.”
Jennifer Santos, Manager - Contracts and Compliance (Peabody, MA) - photographed with mom and Jessica Bennett, Boston O&P employee

“This photo of me with my older child, Sydney, age 7 (my son Sam is 5) was taken during a mother-daughter weekend in Boston. All my life, my mother Mary has taught me that I can accomplish anything I set my mind to.”
Kelly Benard, Clinic Director, South Coast Region
