Tech Q&A with Kasey Zaleski

Posted on

Kasey Zaleski has a bright future ahead of her. This finish technician, who has been with Boston O&P for the past year, would love to one day become a prosthetist/orthotist. For now, though, she's focused on supporting the fabrication team in any way she can.

What is your position with Boston O&P?

I am a finish tech / water spider. I organize and maintain all work stations to ensure that every employee has what he or she needs at the start of each work day.

What made you decide to get into this field?

I love using my hands while working, and I love helping people. In this field, I am able to do both.

What is a typical work day for you like?

I check over the different areas of our manufacturing department and determine what tasks need to be completed for the day before everyone starts work. I also finish body jackets and DMOs.

What is your favorite thing about your job?

I love how doing something at Boston O&P will impact real people. We are improving the lives of so many people.

How has the work you do touched your life personally?

I know that after finishing a brace it is going to help someone. It is a really rewarding feeling that not many people get to experience.

What project or goal would you like to accomplish at Boston O&P?

I would love to be able to become a prosthetist/orthotist and work in one of our clinics. I would love to interact with the patients and see their reaction firsthand to the brace.
