Bio: Growing up I always had an interest in the medical field. I took my first step after high school by joining the military in 2016. Originally I was looking to become a nurse and took a basic A and P course where I was introduced to the musculoskeletal system. Diving deeper into some of the basic functions of the musculoskeletal system I found out it has its own world inside healthcare. This was my first step towards orthopedics, which led to a switch from a Nursing MOS to Orthopedics and becoming an orthopedic specialist for the Army.
In late 2018, I came back to my hometown of St. Louis and switched to the Army reserves. I got into pediatric orthopedics for a children's hospital as an orthopedic technician. Researching higher learning and coming across the orthotic and prosthetic side of orthopedics, I found it amazing how much a fabricated item can make such a huge difference in a person's life. Currently I am the Orthotic Assistant in the St. Louis clinic and very much enjoy learning more about the orthotic and prosthetic field.
